No cookies. No tracking. No ads.

This site does not use cookies, does not track your location, and does not collect any personal information. We don't use analytics, fingerprinting, or any form of user tracking.

When you search for a city or zip code, the coordinates of that location (not your personal location) are sent to the following third-party services to retrieve weather data:

Open-Meteo — weather forecasts and air quality data (called directly from your browser)
National Weather Service (NWS) — severe weather alerts for US locations (called directly)
RainViewer & CartoDB — radar imagery and map tiles (called directly)
NoAdsRadar — our own future-cast radar service for the contiguous United States. Routed through Cloud Run. Receives only the tile coordinates needed for display. Our code does not log IPs or user identifiers, and Google Cloud logging exclusions are configured so the platform's default access logs are not retained.
Zippopotam — postal/zip code to coordinates lookup (60+ countries, called directly)
OpenWeatherMap — severe weather alerts for non-US locations. Routed through our own Cloud Run proxy (alerts-proxy) so the API key isn't exposed in the browser. The proxy receives only your coordinates and returns alert text. Our code does not log your IP, and Google Cloud logging exclusions are configured so the platform's default access logs are not retained.
Google Pollen API — pollen data, only when you click "See pollen data". Routed through our own Cloud Run proxy (pollen-proxy) for the same reason, with the same no-IP-logging configuration.
Google Translate — only if you click the "Translate" link next to a weather alert. The alert text and your selected UI language are sent to Google Translate via a new tab. We don't send anything to Google unless you choose to translate.

Climate data & attribution

The historical climate tables on our city pages (monthly averages and temperature records) come from Meteostat, which compiles observations from national weather services including NOAA and Deutscher Wetterdienst. Each city page names the specific weather station its figures come from.

This data is baked into the pages when we build the site — your browser never contacts Meteostat, so it isn't a third-party service in the sense described above and receives nothing about you. Meteostat's data is published under the Creative Commons BY-NC 4.0 licence, which permits non-commercial use with attribution. NoAdsWeather carries no advertising and sells nothing.

Your preferences (dark mode, temperature units, time format, language, visual style, and section layout) are saved in your browser's local storage (not a cookie) so they persist between visits. Pollen data is also cached locally to reduce unnecessary API calls. You can clear all of this anytime by clearing your browser data.

Your phone might ask you to "Install this page", which means creating a shortcut to a website on your home screen, known as a Progressive Web App (PWA). This makes the site act like a native app, allowing it to load faster, and appear with your other apps on your home screen.
